Hi.  Grace is getting her dental work in the morning.  So please pray for her and her Dr and that her momma doesnt freak out.  Its supposed to be day surgery, so Ill let yall know how it goes.  :)

I'm not sure where this started.  Becca (a friend) found it on one of her lists and I wanted to do this as well.  A 21 day journal focusing on the attributes to think upon, directed at your family.  Not sure how much I will put online and how much I will keep private. 

Philippians 4:8

True-Patrick-You have always been faithful, not just physically but in your heart.  You are truehearted. 

Julia-Even the thought of someone being wronged by a lie breaks your heart and when you were younger would bring you to tears.  You live your beliefs.  You are truehearted. 

Bryant-If you say you are going to do something you will.  You are refreshingly real and true. 

Kate-I'm not sure if it is your age, or who you are.  But you are a mirror to truth.  You call things exactly as you see them.  You remind me of how every person despite who or what they have done is as good as anyone else.   You expect respect as a person, something not seen in little people too often. 

Grace-Your contentment and sweetness is the answer to the prayers prayed while you were made.  Gods truth shines through you. 

Summer

Ive been told I haven't been keeping up my blog.  So figured any news was better then no news.  :) 

Again, no knitting content.  Sorry. 

But for those of you who love me despite my knitting. . .   

I am preparing Julia's school for this next year, 7th grade.  She is doing beautifully. And we are going to try a new thing this year.  She will have her subjects she tackles everyday;  math, typing, and Spanish.  Then instead of working the other ten books chopped up into daily amounts she will complete a book at a time.  So this should be interesting. 

Bryant, 4th grade, is reading very well now.  This year his school will focus on science and spelling and TV for History.  He's doing 4th grade. 

AND guess who is reading after only 4 preschool lessons?  Thats right, Katy!  She technically wouldn't even start Kindergarten till next year since she doesn't turn 5 until October.  All kids are wired differently and she is an overachiever.  "Mom these books are kinda babyish." 

Grace is doing well.  I weaned her last week.  She pats my chest in front of total strangers and tells them "Aw gone."  Heh.  We are gathering the money for her teeth.  Keeping these cavities from growing is a full time job.  Everyone helps brush her teeth and apply her calcium to her teeth.   She loves all the attention. 

This weekend Pat and his Dad built Julia a room of her own.  Now that she is 12 she really needed some privacy.  So I voluntarily sacrificed half of my office.  They built a wall in the middle and will be building her a closet soon.  But for now a door of her own is the most precious gift. 

C, thanks for those stitch markers they are so perfect!  I love them!  I need to find my camera so everyone can see them! 

I need to knit a bit for my sanity.  But I cant find the Addis I need. 

Summer Camp is almost here!

Last year I started a tradition of knitting a wash rag for our campers. 

Heres the one I just completed for Bryant.  Who will be going to camp for the first time.

It's a T-Rex wash cloth from a yahoo group, I cant remember which one, sorry.  But do you love the yarn?  I have to make some more out of this its so pretty.   

She's Here!

My brother and sister in law had their sweet little baby. 

Her name is Ellie and she is the sweetest quietest baby ever.

Isnt she beautiful?  She had a nice calm planned homebirth.  We had thought she was a week late, but she was actually a week early according to the vernix all over her.  :)  Ultrasounds can and will be wrong.  Even in this day and age. 

Recital 2007

Julia and Kate did great at their recital last night.  (WARNING BRAGGING) Julia had Tap, Jazz and Ballet and was flawless and elegant.  When I see Julia in a ballet costume dancing on stage I am full of thanks that God let us keep her and raise her.  She is such a miracle to me.   Such a blessing. So elegant.  I am still in awe that I have had any thing to do with her. 

Kate was in tap and ballet and was all business on stage.  She was very focused and did not let us take any pictures afterward, stinker.  She has been the kid who has taught me to take my own wants and needs serious as she does it so naturally. 

Recital is a magnifying glass.  Any current family flaws seem huge as things like organization and anger will surface.  Luckily this year was drama free.  :)

I choose things for my kids because I want the best for them.  In every decision of parenting I weigh my wants, their wants, and then weigh those against what is best for the child.  All my sacrifices are for them to reach their potential.   Recitals and Bryant's tournaments give me that "this is what I'm doing this all for" feeling.    

Julia will be applying as a company dancer this year.  :)  So she can compete.  Or as Kate says "So she can get some trophies." HA! 

Ok, I'm off to see my new niece Ellie!  She is adorable!  I'll post pictures with her blue booties on!  I cant wait to see that baby! 

Washington DC Trip

On the way

It never fails.  There is always some dilema on the way to the airport.  Something like a flat tire on our way to San Francisco.  But today, well that was fun.  I forgot to ask my neighbor to take care of our bunny, hamster, and cat.  So Bryant went down the street to ask them.  We packed up the car and stopped to pick up Bryant on the side of the road as he was walking back.  WELL, I opened my door and my cell phone slipped out of the car and down the rain drain!  So we walked the couple of houses to ask our friends for a screwdriver to open the man hole.  After some work Pat and I had it open, then flipped it right on Bryants feet!  He was ok.  Yes, stay with me this does have something to do with knitting.  Then as we scanned the bottom of the drain, we didnt see my cell phone but we did see my favorite purple knitting tape measurer.  Pat asked Bryant to retrieve it, he balked, and I agreed he would get dirty and is about to go on a plane.  So its ok, dont get my favorite non addi knitting device, its alright.  Ill be ok.  CLANG!  Went the man hole (that is funny) cover.

Bryant was confident today.  Not the silly little boy.   

I think Pat was a little upset that I dropped my cell phone, and then it wasnt even my cell phone.  LOL at least we would have gone through trouble for something of value.  But he said when he gets back home he will go get it for me.  I hope it doent rain.

Maybe thats why I cried so much when I dropped them off.  Cause too often I forget how much he loves me. 

Look at the boy!

Bryant got his first Karate Trophy this morning!  WooHoo!  He got first in "Musical Form" and third in "Basic Form One".  We are all proud.  He messed up a little on his Basic Form One, but stuck to it and finished!  I am so super proud!

I made this one for Kate in Buttercream Sugar n Cream.  It looks pretty neon in this photo.  But its more subtle. 

I've decided to make the kids washcloths for Summer camp since I started the tradition last year with Julia.  Patrick is going with Bryant this year so Im gona make him one too.  I asked Bryant if he wanted a dinosoar cloth, he got embarrassed, and asked for something karate related!  I'm off to figure out how I can make that work.

I miss dinosaurs.

She's 1

Raising Grace has been a sweet journey.  I'm an older more experienced mom.  It's so nice to be able to just let so many silly worries go and just enjoy who she is.   

    

For a one year old she is eager to communicate.  She says "uh-oh", "uh-uh-uh-uh, uh-oh", "a-b-baby", "a-b-c-d-baby", "Ma", "muh" (kissing), "No-no".  She has been such an easy going baby.  She loves to laugh and chase us around the house.  She loves animals and cries at the neighbors cat when she walks away. 

She seems to have an old soul.  It seems as if she was hardly a baby. This has been the fastest year of my life. Happy birthday baby Grace.
