I was raised on the coast and ran away from many hurricanes growing up. We live about thirty miles inland now. But we still leave if a hurricane is coming. Patrick stayed for Claudette in 03. We were without electricity for almost a week afterwards. No electricity in this Texas heat is not fun especially with babies. So I stayed with my parents till it was restored. I'm not sure what level Claudette was, but Patrick said it was pretty scary and he wouldnt stay for another one.
I enjoy preparing and leaving for hurricanes. They've always been empowering to me and scary. But that is a topic for another day.
This year my major project is to get my pictures down scaled. I have sooooooo many. It's pretty scary. So instead of taking them all I am going through all of them and only taking my very favorites. I have also been getting my cookbook organized and ready to go. I realized if I lost my cookbook I would be in a mess of trouble. So with Ernesto churning away out there I am getting prepared for him or one of his siblings.
My knitting bag is AWOL! If you see her please send her home. She may be under a pile of laundry somewhere, I'm not sure. But she needs to get ready for the hurricane season as well.
